Enough is enough....Apple suing HTC http://www.droiddog.com/android-blog/20 ... #more-8104 (but really going after Google)....they get a little threatened and start crying......Screw em, one of the patents was just granted in Feb of this year (a gesture), so they could include in their bundle of suits..I got a gesture for em...and "triple damages plus maximum interest.......We'll just shut em down and bankrupt them.......80% of the items are so broad you could sue your mother with them.....Screw em.....love their products but way over their ongoing draconian BS.......I really, really hope Google stands by their partner(s) as they are stating they will, in this pissing match Apple has started......HTC is only the beginning......
Fair or unfair, this is one of those "perception has a way of becoming reality" type of deals. When you are kicking butt and taking no prisoners, the last thing you want to do is validate the competition by acknowledging their existence as a viable threat.
It's the same reason we all poke fun at iPhone competitors when they market, position and message themselves relative to iPhone. It's seen as the ultimate proof that they don't have their own identity.
Alas, Apple is validating the impact of Android by suing it's nearest proxy.
Perception has a way of becoming reality, and the perception is that the company (Apple) that has consistently kicked butt on the merits of products (and products alone), has just pulled out the chemical warfare to change the shape of the battlefield.

Remember what Steve Jobs said about Google a couple of weeks ago? Let me refresh your memory:
Apple CEO Steve Jobs allegedly said the following at an internal town hall meeting for Apple employees coinciding with the launch of the iPad:
"We did not enter the search business, Jobs said. They entered the phone business. Make no mistake they want to kill the iPhone. We won’t let them, he says. Someone else asks something on a different topic, but there’s no getting Jobs off this rant. I want to go back to that other question first and say one more thing, he says. This don’t be evil mantra: “It’s bullshit (or crap, depending on the blog you read).”
